Otters

We had a fun filled Science week! We each completed a project at home, creating our own Natural Disasters and had great fun walking around and seeing other peoples'. We learned lots of new facts and talked all about how we made them.

We really enjoyed RE day and loved having a part during the Easter Service. We have a brilliant understanding of the Easter Story and the meaning of Easter now.

This term we have been looking at natural disasters and The Water Cycle in Science. We created a flood and looked at what happened to the surrounding areas and learned all about Passover in RE. We were lucky enough to have a 'Magic Maths' person in and we had a fantastic maths day. Look at our right angles! Emily Diamond, an Olympic athlete, visited our school and we had lots of fun. On World Book Day, Mr Bartlett came into our class and read us two stories which we really enjoyed. They were called 'The Sea of Tranquility' and 'Camille and the Sunflowers'.

Welcome to the Otters' Class

We have had another busy few weeks in Otters' Class. In Literacy we have looked at myths and story writing, and we even acted out the stories to help us sequence them for our plays. We produced some brilliant writing! We also wrote instructions on how to make a stain glass window and had to follow our partners' instructions. We created some beautiful windows and followed the instructions well. In Maths we have been working hard on our times tables, as well as practising  column addition and subtraction. We looked at fractions and found equivalent fractions and practised weighing to the nearest 100 grams. We have all worked extrememly hard and are proud of what we have achieved.

Adjectives Alphabet
We tested our knowledge of adjectives and our memories when we worked our way through the alphabet, thinking of an adjective for each letter. It got very tricky when we got to y and had to remember 24 other

adjectives too!

Folding fractions

We looked at fractions and folded strips of paper into different fractions to create a fraction wall. We used our fraction walls to help us to spot equivalent fractions!

Weighing pasta

We practiced reading scales to the nearest hundred grams when Miss Lowe worked with us in groups!

Weighing to the nearest 100g

We worked in groups to weigh objects around the classroom to the nearest 100g. We tried to convert the weights between kilograms and grams.

We acted out 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' to help us to re-write it as a play. It was very tricky include stage directions!
