Last week, Bears were lucky to visit the prayer spaces provided by the 'Open the Book' team. It was a chance for the children to think and reflect in a calm environment. They wrote prayers for those in need, sorry prayers, prayers for their family and loved ones and also asked lots of questions about God. For example, 'What is it like in heaven?'. Bears, you were brilliant!

Term 3

Welcome back, I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas and are ready for an exciting term.

We will be starting our new book 'Vlad and the Great Fire of London' where we will be writing recounts and diary entries from the perspectives of different characters. Reception children will also be writing character descriptions and looking at the structure of stories.

In maths we will be beginning with place value for numbers up to 20 for Y1, and up to 10 for Reception.

Our first topic is History where we will be learning all about the Great Fire of London which will also help us to understand our class book.

Keep checking our class page for updates on our learning, spellings, knowledge organisers and homework. Reception parents, don't forget to look at Tapestry to see what the children have been learning. smiley

Welcome to Bears!

I hope you have all had a lovely summer break and are ready to start learning.

This term we have lots of exciting things to look forward to. In English we will be looking at African stories starting with Handa's Surprise - we will even have a go at tasting all the different fruits from the story!

We will also start our new topic approach. This term we will be covering Art and Science.  In Art we will be looking at colour and painting. We will learn all about primary and secondary colours and how artists paint with these. In Science we will be looking at identifying animals (including humans!).

Visit this page regularly for all the latest news in Bears class and see how we are getting on.
