World Book Day 2020 - we had a brilliant day celebrating World Book Day! We shared lots of different stories, with different people, in different and unusual places!

Getting into character of some Anglo-Saxons!

Dance! Dance! Dance!

We've started fractions in Maths - we used skittles to help us!

We have started our new focus in English: letter writing. Here we are discussing the differences between informal and formal language.

Term 4

Wow, what a busy first two weeks we have had!

Term 3

Happy New Year! I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas break and are as excited as I am to begin Term 3!

We had such a fantastic, book-filled end to a super term! We enjoyed swapping our books and then reading them in our book bingo reward later that afternoon with a delicious hot chocolate!

Super homework linked to our History topic!

I have been super impressed with the homework and all the hard work and effort that the children have put in! The edible treats were all delicious!

We have been learning all about division during Maths!

Wow! What a busy first two weeks of Term 3 we have had!

Term 2

We had a great end of term 2! We had fun learning about life cycles in Science, we made a range of muffins during DT week and decorating a Christmas bauble! We also shared some of our amazing homework!

We love our new jigsaw characters. They help us relax and focus in our PSHEE lessons.

We consolidated our learning of factors by playing a challenging maths game called Factor Track. It made us all think!

We love reading! We have got some amazing new bibliographies in the library.

Learning factors in Maths by drawing on the tables!

A creative, active way to practise our times table!

Big Morning Move for Children in Need

We had fun acting out our time-slip stories!

We had a great day today with Mrs Ibison creating some beautiful artwork relating to Remembrance day and learning to play the glockenspiel!

I hope you have all had a lovely half term and are ready for Term 2.

This term we are carrying on with our class book 'Secrets of the Sun King' and we are eagerly waiting to find out if Lil makes it to Egypt to return the cursed jar! Also this term we will be studying life cycles in Science and topographical features in Geography.

Check out our class page regularly to see what we have been busy doing!

Term 1

Welcome to Cheetahs!

I hope you all had a great summer holiday!

In English we will be starting a new class book 'Secrets of a Sun King' by Emma Carroll.  We will be writing diary entries, stories and instructions.

As well as that, we will be starting our new topic approach. This term we will be focusing on History and Art. In

History, we will researching the Ancient Egyptians. In Art, we will be printing.

Visit this page regularly for all the latest class news and to see what we have been getting up to!

We had a great end to Term 1 finishing off our art and producing some lovely work on RE day!

We are putting all our skills into practise!

More of our super art work!

Our new Art topic is in full swing with our first activity of drawing fruits!

We loved up-leveling instructions to make tasty jam sandwiches!

We have been focusing on ordering, comparing and rounding numbers in Maths - this took a lot of teamwork to check we were all in the right place on our number line!

We had great fun in numeracy this morning! We were ordering and comparing numbers by placing them on a spiral numberline. We even had to use string on one activity to work out the midway point.

We still love our guided reading book Adventures in Ancient Egypt. We love the plot - Will Emma and Libby ever find Joshy? And we are learning loads about Ancient Egypt as well.

Here we are acting out our diary entries and imagining being Lil!

Here are a few examples of some of our excellent Ancient Egyptian homework!

Here is some of our fabulous work - understanding the importance of the River Nile and our story board for the day Lil found the parcel in our class book!

This is us learning how to play hockey!

We used our ICT skills to create a mind-map of ideas to include on our WIKI page

We read a thought provoking book called The Journey Home. It made us think about our precious planet and how important it is to look after the world we live in.

We discussed the animals mentioned in the book The Journey Home. We ordered and compared the size of their population. We also found out their current status.

We continued our work on ordering and comparing numbers back in the classroom where we made horizontal bar charts to show the populations of different species of orangutans, elephants, polar bears and giant pandas.

We have started reading another exciting book in Guided Reading called Adventures in Ancient Egypt. Already it is looking like an action-packed book.

In PSHEE we discussed what we mean when we discuss our carbon footprint. We drew around our feet and thought about how we can reduce our carbon footprint. We then made different pledges. Finally we made bunting out of scrap paper to remind ourselves how important it is to look after our environment.

We had some tricky place value challenges in Maths today!

We have been investigating number patterns within a folded numberline. We made our own numberlines and folded them at regular intervals. We examined what numbers stacked on top of each other. We tried to find interesting number patterns.

We visit our school library every week. We LOVE our library. It is such a special place to share books.

What are YOU reading at the moment?

In PHSEE we have been learning about how to value myself and others. We read the picture book The Lion Inside and made paper mice to remind ourselves that no matter how big or how small, we all have a voice.
