Welcome to Pandas

Year 1

We were so lucky to have Michelle Robinson, author of 'Ten Fat Sausages' and 'Ding-Dong Gorilla', visit us in class today. She was so much fun and read us some of her amazing, funny stories!

Fantastic re-telling of 'Elliot the Midnight Superhero!'

Challenging maths! We have been solving division problems.

We have been learning a lot about money in maths these past couple of weeks and we have REALLY challenged ourselves! These are photos of us exploring all the different coins.

Today Pandas planted Sunflowers! We can't wait to see how tall and beautiful they grow. Great gardening Pandas!

Wow, fantastic independent writing! Super effort!

Today we made Mindfulness Jars as part of our Healthy Living/Well Being Week. They show us our feelings, thoughts and our behaviour and how they all work together. When we need to calm down it’s like the glitter sinking to the bottom. Slowly but surely.

The story of Hansel and Gretel. Here are examples of our story map. Can you re-tell the story?

Term 5

Welcome to the Summer Term Pandas! I hope you've had a really enjoyable Easter break. This term we are answering the question 'Could you become King or Queen'? As we study and explore monarch's from the past, their rules, along with Queen Elizabeth II. In Science we will be answering the question 'Can Sunflowers follow the sun?' where we will be growing our own sunflowers!

Wow - look at this handwriting! This is English work to be proud of, well done!

Pandas and Penguins joined forces this week and Explored together in Penguins. We had a great time!

We have had a great Science Week! We met a variety of animals from Africa.

Wow Pandas! Brilliant effort with your homework's today! Mrs Wicks is SO impressed!

Our World Book Day Characters

Pandas really enjoyed their trip to Trowbridge Library with Penguins Class. We had a great time listening to stories and exploring the library.

Maths was very active today! Predicting and measuring using cubes!

Term 4

Welcome back everyone! This term our challenge question will be 'What happened in Pudding Lane?' where we will be learning about The Great Fire of London. In science we will be answering the question 'Why does it get lighter in summer?'

It should be a fun, Spring filled term ahead!

End of Year Expectations

Term 3

Happy New Year and welcome back Pandas! I hope you had a fantastic Christmas break.

This term we are answering the question "Why are humans not like Tortoises?" by continuing our learning about animal habitats. We will also be learning about specific animal species and their features along with what different animals like to eat.

A fun start to the term! We were so lucky to have Longleat visit us, to show us an array of different animals. Pandas had a fantastic time looking at, touching and learning about the animals.

Well done!

A massive well done to all the Year 1s for their brilliant performances in this week's shows. They all worked extremely hard. Super work Pandas!
