Term 1

Firstly, a big welcome to the Penguins class and their parents/carers!

As you know your child is being taught by me, Miss McCombe, and Miss Jones will be covering my PPA time.

Our class teaching assistants are Mrs King and Mrs Plumpton.

We are all looking forward to getting to know your child better and helping them to settle in to school life during the coming weeks. Over the first term there will be much to learn that is new to both you and your child but we aim for a gentle transition to new routines for everyone and very much look forward to working in partnership with you.

Our topic this term is:

We have been thinking about our friends and how wonderful our friends are. We made medals for our friends to say why they are so fantastic.

We have also been thinking about how well we have done. We drew pictures of the things we are proud of.

We have been looking at poppys ahead of Remembrance Day. We have been thinking about how we use poppies to say Thank You to the soldiers who keep us safe.

We have had great fun practicing to write our names

This is Beat baby

He lives in our classroom and we love to look after him!

This week, we have also been making Beat baby a home

We are enjoying our weekly visits to the school library every Friday! We will be able to take books home very soon!

We have loved learning all about numbers and counting in Maths

We have enjoyed reading the story of Pete the cat rocking in his school shoes.

Here is the link to listen to the song Pete sings and other activities linked to the story.
