Welcome to Penguins

Welcome back Penguins! I hope you have all enjoyed the half term break and are ready for another exciting term. This term we will be exploring the topic 'On the Farm'. We will be learning about different farm animals, life cycles as well as jobs that farmers have to do on their farm. Our story this term is 'A Squash and a Squeeze' by Julia Donaldson. We will be looking at rhyming and writing thought bubbles as well as writing a class poem about Autumn. Keep checking Tapestry and this page for more updates and photos of our amazing learning!
We're Going on a Bear Hunt
For the past 3 weeks we have been exploring Michael Rosen's well known text 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. Have a look at some of our amazing work and the fun activities we got up to! We even went on our very own bear hunt!
We have started our first topic which is 'Explorers'. The children will be learning about Captain Robert Scott's expedition to the South Pole as well as the first moon landing. They are already enjoying our explorer role play area! You can find out more about our topic from the knowledge organiser located in the tab above. Don't forget to keep checking here for updates as well as Tapestry!
For the first 2 weeks we will be getting to know your children through exploring the topic 'All About Me'. The children will be carrying out lots of activities surrounding this theme. We will also be familiarising ourselves with the the classroom and the school along with learning the rules and routines. Please see the curriculum letter in the tab above for more detail on the different areas of learning for the term. Penguins, we can't wait to see your smiley faces again on Monday!
