Joining Nestlings is simple and personal – we like to get to know every family before your child's first day, so the transition feels as smooth as possible for both of you.
Who can join
Nestlings welcomes children from age 2 onwards. Whether your child is just starting out in early years care or moving from another setting, we'd love to hear from you.
How to apply
Getting started is straightforward:
- Get in touch – contact us by phone on 01225 782388 or by email at nestlings@staverton.wilts.sch.uk to start the conversation and ask any initial questions
- Come and visit – we'll invite you in to see Nestlings for yourself, meet our team, and get a feel for how we do things
- Meet with staff – a chance to talk through your child's needs, routines, and anything that will help us prepare for their first day
Start dates and our two rooms
We operate rolling admissions – your child can join us in the term after they turn 2, rather than waiting for a fixed intake date.
Nestlings is made up of two rooms. Ducklings is for children aged 2 to 4. Cygnets is our pre-school room, for children from age 4 who are getting ready for their move into Reception. Which room your child starts in depends on their age when they join, and children move from Ducklings into Cygnets in September, January, or April.

You may be eligible for government-funded childcare hours (15 or 30 hours per week, depending on your circumstances).

What happens next
Once we've met and everything's confirmed, we'll be in touch to arrange settling-in sessions – giving your child the chance to get comfortable with our team and environment before their official start date.
If a place isn't immediately available, we can add your child to our waiting list – just get in touch and we'll take your details.
